CET Law

The State Entrance Exam Cell, Maharashtra conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) for all the candidates interested in taking admissions in the integrated 3-year and 5-year Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) programs offered by the participating colleges. The exams for both the programs are conducted separately and the applications are also released separately.

CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The programs offered have certain common eligibility criteria while the educational qualification varies as per the program chosen by the candidate


3-year LLB programme

  • The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any stream and from a recognized institution affiliated with a University in India. Candidates who have completed his/her Bachelor's degree in a foreign university which has an equivalent status are also eligible to apply for the respective program
  • Moreover, the candidate should have completed his/her Bachelor's degree with an aggregate minimum of 45% marks (General Category), minimum 40% marks (SC and ST category), and minimum 42% marks (VJ/ DT/ NT-A/ SBC/ OBC).
  • Candidate appearing for his/her final year/semester are also eligible to apply to the exam. The documents related to their respective qualifying examination are required during the admission process
  • The applicant should be an Indian National. (No age limit)
  • NOTE- The candidate should have completed his/her Bachelor's degree in (10+2+3) format ONLY

5-year LLB programme

  • A candidate who has completed his/her Higher Secondary (10th) and Under-grad (12th) education with an aggregate of a minimum of 45% marks (General Category), minimum of 40% marks (SC and ST Category, and a minimum of 42% marks (VJ/ DT/ NT-A/ SBC/ OBC) are eligible for this program
  • Candidates who have an engineering diploma of three years are also considered eligible for the program
  • A candidate who has completed his/her basic qualification, Higher Secondary (10th), and has passed the qualifying exam from a Distance learning mode are also considered eligible for the program
  • The Candidate must be an Indian National. (No age limit).

CET 2020 Application Form

Steps to fill the application form

  • Visit the official website of State Common Entrance Cell, www.mahacet.org, and click on MH CET Law to apply online
  • The candidate has to register first by filling the basic contact information such as Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, and Mobile number. After the registration, the candidate receives a Registration ID and Password on the screen as well as on the registered Email ID and Mobile number. Save the same for the further process of the form filling and admission
  • The candidate is required to upload his/her scanned copy of photograph and signature in below-mentioned format only

  • The candidate is required to fill his/her educational details such as Graduation, under-grad, and Higher secondary details
  • After filling all the details the candidate needs to validate his/her details, but before clicking on Save and next verify and ensure all the details filled in are correct as it cannot be modified once submitted. If any information or detail is incorrect then the application will be canceled while submitting or at the time of the counseling process
  • The application form fee for both the UG courses will be the same but will vary depending on the category of the candidate

  • Finally submit the application after ensuring all the details are properly updated and the photograph and signature are successfully uploaded as no modifications are allowed after Final submission

CET 2020 Admit Card

The Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra will issue the admit cards of both 3-year and 5-year exams in the online mode. Due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, the dates of issuing the admit cards are postponed but the new dates will be notified soon. Candidate can download the admit card from the official website of MH CET Law 2020 by entering his/her login credentials

How to download MH CET Law admit card 2020?

  • Visit the official website of MH CET Law entrance. (www.mahacet.org)
  • Click on the ˜Download Admit Card' link
  • Choose your course, 3-year OR 5-year
  • Enter your login credentials like Registration number and Password/ Date of Birth
  • Click on the ˜ Download Admit card' button.
  • Check and verify all the details on the hall ticket before downloading it as the candidate should report the CET Cell before the exam
  • Download two copies of the admit card

CET 2020 Results

How to check MH CET Law result 2020?

Candidates can log on to the official website of MH CET and check their results in the following steps:

Step 1: Log on to the official website of MH CET- http://cetcell.mahacet.org/ and choose the course from 5-year and 3-year

Step 2: Click on the œ Download Scorecard button

Step 3: The page will direct the candidate to a PDF file that has the results according to the ranking and scores of the applicants

Step 4: Search for respective roll number in the list

Step 5: Check the score and take a print out of the MH CET Score Card

CET 2020 Counselling

How to register for the Counseling Procedure?

  • Log on to the official website of MH CET Law and register
  • Register as a new candidate for the Counseling Procedure and fill all the required information
  • After the registration, the candidate has to fill the preferences of colleges according to his/her scores and college cut-offs. Once the form filling is done, the candidate has to the pay the counseling fees of INR 3000 (General Category/ OBC/ NT/ VJ-DT/ SBC) and INR 1000 (SC and ST Category)
  • The CET Cell announces the provisional seat allocation list on the official website

MHCET Law 2020 CAP Rounds Details

  • Candidates are allocated the seats according to their Candidature type (Maharashtra State and Other than Maharashtra State), marks obtained, ranking, and the preferences filled in the Options form
  • The candidate is required to fill the preferences in the form and accept the colleges according to the allocation of the seats in the first round
  • If the candidate wants to enter the college allotted to him/her they have click on the freeze option and report to the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) first and get the documents verified. After that, the candidate has to report to the college and pay the fees to confirm the seat
  • If the candidate froze a seat and all the procedure is done then the candidate is not allowed to apply for the next rounds
  • Candidates who are allocated a seat in the first round but want to wait for a better alternative can exercise the œFloat option to become eligible for the next round
  • The freshly registered candidates from NRI/OCI/PIO/FNS category are allotted the seats in this round
  • Applicants from the first round who want a better seat allocation and exercised the œFloat option are eligible to participate in this round
  • Candidates who accepted the seats by reporting to the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) but did not freeze the seat can participate in this round for a better alternative. But these candidates would not be allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds of the process
  • Applicants filling fresh option form of preferences as well as who edit their preferences in the form are allocated the seats in this round
