Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the most coveted of all the law entrances in India after Class XII. CLAT journey started in 2008 and today more than 45,000 students write the entrance every year to secure a seat in one of the participating National Law University including NLSIU Bangalore-the Harvard of the East.

CLAT is conducted every year to select students for 21 National Law Universities in India, other than National Law University-Delhi, which has their own process to select the students.

CLAT score is also accepted by other law schools including NMIMS- Mumbai, UPES-Dehradun and Institute of Law, Nirma University-Ahmedabad, to name a few.

CLAT 2019 Eligibility

To be eligible for CLAT, the candidates must have secured:

(a) Forty-five percent (45%) marks in Qualifying Exam (Class XII or equivalent) in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories.

(b) Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2019 are also eligible for appearing in CLAT-2019 offline examination. However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

There is no age limit for CLAT

CLAT 2019 Syllabus

CLAT 2019 shall be conducted in offline mode where the paper will have 200 questions from five different subjects including English (Comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Scope and coverage of questions under different subject areas:

English including comprehension: The English section will test the candidates' proficiency in English based on comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The General knowledge will be tested on the general awareness including static general knowledge. Questions on current affairs will test candidates on their knowledge of national and international current affairs.

Mathematics: This section will test candidate's knowledge on elementary mathematics, i.e., maths taught up to 10th Class/standard.

Legal Aptitude: This section will test candidate's interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be "true" in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the "truth" of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly.

Logical Reasoning: The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate's ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It may include a variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested

CLAT 2019 Exam Pattern

CLAT is a test of one's aptitude and reasoning abilities. It comprises of five sections namely: Verbal Ability, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and Legal Aptitude.

Each question carries 1 mark and for every incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

CLAT Result

CLAT 2019 result is expected to be released in June 2019. The first merit list of selected candidates is expected to be released by Mid-June 2019.

CLAT results can be accessed by individually logging in to the registered account on the official CLAT website. In the result, the candidate will be able to check their score, All India Rank and category rank (if published).

In the second week of June, CLAT will also publish the College Allotment List, after which the candidates who have been allotted the seat in an NLU, will be required to pay the counselling fee of Rs. Fifty Thousand Only, within the stipulated dates, failing which the candidate will lose his/her seat and will not be considered for further process of admission in 2019

MHCET Law 2019

MHCET Law is a national level common entrance exam conducted by Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra to shortlist aspirants for admission in law programmes offered in the state. On the basis of an aspirant's performance in MHCET Law 2019 exam, candidates can secure admission in BA LLB (5 years integrated course) and LLB (3 years) programmes offered in law colleges of Maharashtra state.

MHCET Law comprises of 150 questions which candidates need to attempt in two hours duration. CET for law test paper consists of objective type questions in English and Marathi language. There is no negative marking in the entrance exam.

MHCET Law Eligibility Criteria 2019

The conducting body of MH CET Law 2019, DHE Maharashtra has announced the eligibility criteria of MH CET Law 2019. Candidates appearing in MH CET Law 2019 are advised to read and understand the points mentioned in the MH CET Law 2019 Eligibility Criteria for the undergraduate law programmes as mentioned here

  • As per the MH CET Law Eligibility Criteria 2019 for five-year integrated law programme, candidates should have passed Senior Secondary School Examination/ 12th Board Examination from any recognised educational institution with a minimum of 45 per cent of the total marks in the aggregate of the subjects, which however is 5% less for those belonging to SC/ST categories of Maharashtra state
  • Candidates appearing in MH CET Law 2019 to seek admission into the three year law programme, need to have a graduation degree issued by any university or college recognised by UGC and following a 10+2+3 education pattern with at least 45 per cent in the aggregate of the subjects, and 40 per cent for those belonging to SC/ST categories of the Maharashtra state.
  • There is no age bar to appear in the law examination, MH CET Law 2019 for both five-year integrated and three year law programmes

MHCET Law Application and Registration Form

MHCET Law application form is available online on the official website of Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra. The application form for MH-CET Law is released in the month of March each year.

Step 1: Register for MHCET Law

Candidates need to visit the official website of Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Maharashtra and click on the œNew Registration tab. Thereafter, candidates need to enter their details such as name, email ID, mobile number and other contact information. On submitting these details, candidates are sent their provisional registration number which candidates need to save and keep for future reference. Further, candidates are sent their application number as well as password on the email ID and mobile number provided by them.

Step 2: Fill MH-CET Law Registration Form

Next, candidates need to login on DHE's official website using the application number and password provided to them. Here, candidates need to provide their details such as their father's/husband's name, correspondence address as well as educational details such as certificates/marksheets for SSC/HSC/Convocation/Degree or equivalent degree.

After filling all these details candidates need to click on ˜Validate your Details' link and after checking all the details provided by them they need to click on the ˜Save' and ˜Next' tab.

Step 3: Upload Photo & Signature

Candidates need to then upload scanned copies of their signature and photograph. The signature need to be done with black ink pen on a white paper

Step 5: Submit MHCET Application Form

Once candidates submit the application fee they will be provided with an e-receipt informing about the payment received from their end. Candidates are advised to take a clear print of this e-receipt of application fee payment.

After this, candidates can preview the information provided by them and once they are sure that all the information fields are correctly filled they have to click on ˜Final Submit' button. On completing this step the application process for MHCET Law 2019 is complete.

MHCET Law Pattern

MHCET Law exam pattern is such that the test comprises of 150 objective type questions that candidates need to attempt in two hours duration. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for law admissions has question papers in both English and Marathi languages.

MHCET Law 2019 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme for MH-CET for both LLB (5 years) and LLB (3 years) course admissions is such that for every correct answer aspirants are awarded one mark. There is no negative marking in the exam.

MHCET LAW Syllabus 2019

The syllabus of MH CET Law 2019 mentions that the law aspirants will be tested on four different topics namely Basic Mathematics, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude and Logical and Analytical Reasoning for five-year integrated law programme and for three year LLB, candidates will be given questions from General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Logical and Analytical Reasoning and English which is common in both the programmes.

MHCET Law Seats and Reservation 2019

DTE Maharashtra will be offering reservation to the candidates belonging to the reserved categories including scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class. Also, candidates should belong to the Maharashtra state, which means a candidate from any of these reserved categories but belonging to other state or Union Territory of India will not be able to avail the benefits and will be treated as General/ Open Category candidates. MHCET Law Exam Centres

DTE Maharashtra has announced the exam centres of MH CET Law 2019. The law entrance examination will be conducted in as many as 53 cities of different states. After taking a glance at the MH CET Law 2019 Exam Centres, candidates need to choose any three centres as per their proximity and convenience. It should also be kept in mind that there will be no possibilities of changes to be made once the exam centre is being allocated. MH CET Law Admit Card

Aspirants of MH CET Law 2019 can access their admit card of MH CET Law 2019 on April 10, 2019 for five-year integrated law programme and for three year law programme, the admit card will be released on April 22, 2019. DHE Maharashtra will announce the hall ticket in online mode. The hall ticket of the state level law entrance exam will  mention the candidature and examination details including roll number of the candidate, exam date and timings besides the address of the exam centre.

SLAT

Symbiosis International University will conduct SLAT 2019 on May 4, 2019. SLAT 2019 is to be conducted in online mode across 85 cities of India. SLAT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to take the Symbiosis Law Admission Test need to carefully go through SLAT 2019 eligibility criteria before proceeding with the application process. The eligibility criteria of SLAT 2019 lists down the requirements related to academic qualifications which applicants need to comply with to be considered eligible for the five year integrated BA/BBA LLB course offered by the university.

It should be noted that the eligibility criteria of SLAT 2019 is common for all the three law campuses of Symbiosis International University. However, mere fulfilment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee candidates admissions into the university. Candidates fulfilling SLAT eligibility criteria 2019 will be only considered eligible for taking the admission test and subsequent rounds related to admission.

SLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 - BBA/BA LLB

Academic Qualifications - Candidates need to have cleared their XIIth class (under 10+2 board) or an equivalent exam.

Minimum aggregate - Candidates should have secured 45%. However, SC/ST category candidates need to have 40% as their aggregate.

Age Limit - As per the orders of the Supreme Court, there is no age limit for students applying for law programmes.

SLAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria - Who is not Eligible?

  • Candidates should have cleared their 12th class examination in a single attempt. Those who have a compartment or had once appeared for compartment examination will be considered non-eligible for SLAT.
  • Those candidates who have completed their 12th class through open/distance learning and open university system will be considered ineligible for SLAT.



SLAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 - Important Pointers

  • Before proceeding with the application form, it is important that candidates go through the eligibility criteria of SLAT 2019 and ensure that they fulfil them. If at any stage candidates are found to be not complying with the eligibility criteria, their admissions can get cancelled at any stage.
  • Candidates should note that there is no age limit for candidates applying for law programmes. This order has been passed by the SC and is applicable to all universities including Symbiosis International University.
  • Those who had appeared for compartment examination in class 12th will not be eligible.
  • Those who had completed their class 12th from open or distance mode of education will not be eligible for the course
  • Candidates will be asked to furnish the necessary documents at the time of final admissions stating that they fulfil the SLAT 2019 eligibility criteria and are eligible to pursue the law programme.

How to fill SLAT Application Form 2019

Given below are the steps to fill the application form for SLAT. Candidates can take the help of the following instructions while filling the form.

Registration Process

  • Firstly, candidates will have to click on the official link given below to begin with the registration process for SLAT.
  • Candidates will now have to click on the ˜new registration' button. In this step, they will have to fill in details like their name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc.
  • Once the candidates have filled these details, candidates will then have to select the law programme they want to apply for from the drop down menu.
  • Candidates will be sent a login ID upon the completion of the registration process. The password and login ID must be retained by the applicants as they will be needing them throughout the admission process.
  • They will be sent these credentials on their registered mobile numbers as well.
  • Now to fill the SLAT 2019 application form, candidates will have to login using the same login credentials.



Application Form Filling

  • While filling the application form, candidates will have to fill all the necessary details
  • They will also have to upload their photographs and signature.
  • Candidates will also be required to choose three exam centres out of which one will be allotted to them.
  • However, the centres requested by the candidate may be cancelled by the university due to any reason. In such a case, the candidate will be allotted a centre nearest to centre previously selected by him/her.



Application Fee Payment

  • Candidates can remit the fee for application form of SLAT 2019 in both online and offline modes.
  • For online payment, the following options are available to the candidate - credit/debit card/net banking. Candidates can submit the fees through master or visa card directly after going through the instructions. In case of net banking, candidates also transfer the fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using the net banking option.
  • For offline payment, candidates can exercise two options to fill the SLAT application form 2019 - cash payment or Demand Draft.
  • For cash payments, candidates will have to deposit the ˜payment advice' form along with Rs. 1750 in cash at Axis Bank or Indian Bank branches.
  • Once the candidate deposits the fee, the bank will be returning to copies to the the student - Student and Symbiosis copy.

SLAT 2019 Application Form - Important Points to be kept in Mind

  • The application process will be conducted in online mode
  • The fee against the application form of SLAT 2019 can however be paid in both online and offline modes
  • Along with registering for SLAT 2019, candidates will also have to register with the campuses of their choice. If candidates fail to do so, they will not be called for the Personal Interview and WAT rounds.
  • The login credentials which will be generated during the registration process needs to be retained by the candidates until the admission process.

SLAT Exam Center 2019

The aspirants while filling the application form might be willing to know the names of the SLAT 2019 exam centres. Symbiosis International University has released the names of the examination centres on January 24, 2019. According to the notification, SLAT 2019 will be held in the 80 cities of the country in an online mode. The candidates will be given the privilege to select at least three test cities according to their convenience.

SLAT Admit Card

Symbiosis International University will issue SLAT 2019 admit card from April 20, 2019 on the official website of SIU. The admit card of SLAT 2019 will be made available online and can be download by using the login credentials. Now, take the printout of the admit card and paste the recent passport size colour photograph (Photograph should not be 3 more than three months old). SLAT 2019 admit card will carry the following information such as the name of the candidates, roll number, venue, address and time of the examination centre as well as the important instructions related to the exam.

The candidates must know that SLAT admit card 2019 is the important document which every candidate must carry on the examination day. Other documents such as identity proof of any one like passport, driving license, Pan card, Voter Id, Aadhaar card and school or college ID card must be carried by the candidates. In case, if you fail to carry any one of the documents you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • To start off with the preparation, candidates should firstly go through the exam pattern of SLAT 2019. They should familiarize themselves with structure with key components of the question paper like maximum marks, number of questions, duration, syllabus, weightage and marking scheme. SLAT Cut off

Symbiosis International University (SIU) will be announcing SLAT 2019 Cutoff in the first week of May 2019 after the announcing the results for BA/BBA LLB entrance examination. The Cutoff of SLAT 2019 will be announced by all the three participating law campuses for both five year integrated BA and BBA LLB courses. Furthermore, the SLAT Cutoffs will be released separately by the three law campuses for all categories.

The SLAT 2019 Cutoff will mention the minimum qualifying marks which candidates should score in the entrance test to be selected for the succeeding PI-WAT rounds.
